Dayton Golf & Country Club is Rhea County's only golf course. It is located at the foot of the mountain, just minutes north of Dayton near Hwy. 27 at Payne Lane. The facilities include an 18-hole golf course, with a practice green and range, and restaurant. Memberships are available & guest play is welcome.

Conducted at the Rhea County Courthouse in Downtown Dayton every year in July, this play is a re-enactment of the original trial that put Dayton in everyone's American history book! Crafts and Music on the courthouse grounds add to the festivities.

This ten-day event in Dayton, Tennessee is named in honor of the town's once culinary distinction of being the "Strawberry Capital of the World". Musical events include country and bluegrass bands, gospel music, and traditional music jam sessions, featuring local and regional talents. The festival is highlighted by a parade on the second Saturday in May. Strawberries and berry inspired foods (jams, pies, ice-cream, and candy) as well as arts and crafts are on sale throughout the festival.

The Dayton Merchants present this parade and fun-filled day on the first Saturday in December of each year. The parade, honoring the roots of this rural community consists of festive horse, mule and people-powered means of transportation. HUV's (Horse Utility Vehicles) promenade up Market Street alongside mule-drawn & goat-powered carts and even the occasional dog wagon. It wouldn't be Christmas without carolers, elves and snowmen.
